Student Finance
Student finance can vary by country, but some common types of student finance include:
• Student loans
These can cover tuition fees and living costs. In the UK, there are two types of student loans: tuition fee loans and maintenance loans. Tuition fee loans are paid directly to the university, while maintenance loans are paid directly to the student's bank account.
• Student aid packages
A financial aid package refers to the combination of various forms of financial assistance offered toa student to help cover the costs of their education.
• International student loans
These can cover tuition, fees, room, board, books, and other living expenses. The funds are usually sent directly to the school, and any remaining funds are given to the student.
• Basic grants
In the Netherlands, basic grants may be performance-related, depending on the course. For some courses, the basic grant does not need to be repaid, while for others it does if the student does not get their qualification within 10 years.
